can you really have too much?

He was being sarcastic:)
2 13W7's are going to overpower 1 set of Zr's IMO. While it is a small cab, that's alot of bass and most likely the set will get drowned out. Seriously, amp wise, get something that will fit you better.

2 sets of 6.5" components, ZR's if you want JL...and a better amp that's either 150x4, or 250x2 so you can put 2 sets on the amp. and why 1000/1's? Seriously, no point they're nice amps but 1000w isn't worth $800, get a nice Sundown 1500d amp for each and be done.

But then again, you seem like you might be a bit of brand *****. Seriously though, ask someone that knows whats they're doing to put together a system for you...or listen to us.

I said I was putting 2 pairs of ZR's in there. 1 in the door and 1 in a fiberglass deal in the headliner. And the guy that was being sarcastic can go **** himself. Hes probably just angry because he can't afford it. Thats generally why most people talk poorly of it. Everyone claims to have a subwoofer that is better than a W7 both in quality and in loudness... I have yet to hear one. And unless you are in Fort Lauderdale and can let me hear it, any talking is pointless. I have had 2 friends buy the new solo X's and they both had theirs gone bad already. And it was installed correctly because thats where I had my 13W7's installed in my other vehicle over 2 years ago.

Its a namebrand, and my car is for show, so if there is a another sub out there from Europe that blows mine out of the water, i could really care less, because nobody will know what the **** it is and the second they leave they won't really remember. I'm sure this is an open invatation for haters to start crying about how their $20 subs are better than mine, but as I said, I could really care less.

Besides, my friend is the GM at a distributer of JL, so I get all my items for dirt cheap. So I probably got my nice, quality, name brand items for less than you paid for yours at the swap shop. Deerhunter needs to stop thinking his system is loud just because it echos over catfish lake up there in Mississippi. 145 db eh? I'll make a deal with you, if my shit hits less than 146 db, I'll set my car on fire and send you the pictures.

Thank you adas for our input. I have learned most people down here don't really know what they are talking about so its kind of hard to stroll into an audio shop and ask questions. Thats why I posted my question here. For nice, respectful responses, not for some hillbilly to tell me I spent his years paycheck on car audio for no **** good reason. Thanks again

If set up, powered, and installed correctly, those subs aren't going to "drown out" a set of ZRs, or any quality components.

Everyone claims to have a subwoofer that is better than a W7 both in quality and in loudness... I have yet to hear one.
Have you ever heard any other subs? Not bashing on the W7, it's a decent sub, if installed properly it can be pretty loud and sound pretty good. However if you think it's the best, then you are very mislead. There are many, many other subs that cost much less than the W7 that will surpass it in quality and loudness.

I have had 2 friends buy the new solo X's and they both had theirs gone bad already. And it was installed correctly because thats where I had my 13W7's installed in my other vehicle over 2 years ago.
So because your subs were installed, 2 years ago, by the same shop, and they haven't "gone bad" yet, that automatically means that all their installs are perfect? Maybe so, maybe your friends are just dumb and they made the subs "go bad" because they don't know how to use their equipment. It would make sense since they had it installed at a shop.

Its a namebrand, and my car is for show, so if there is a another sub out there from Europe that blows mine out of the water, i could really care less, because nobody will know what the **** it is and the second they leave they won't really remember.
Show cars aren't supposed to be normal. Wouldn't it make more sense to not use mainstream brands for a show car? If I saw your car I would think "Oh look, more W7s" and then walk away. Where is the creativity in using the same thing everybody else has? Unless you have a ridiculously good enclosure and a really unique installation, or everybody else there just has crap, nobody will notice your car. If however I saw a car with a sub "from Europe that blows mine out of the water" I will take notice. I might even strike up a conversation with the owner, ask him about the products he used, and definitely remember the car.

So I probably got my nice, quality, name brand items for less than you paid for yours at the swap shop.
So just because it's not popular means it's not a reputable company and you are comparing them to a pawn shop? Hey guess what, people buy brand new subwoofers from real companies, for far less than you paid even with your friend's discount, and get equal or better quality.

I have learned most people down here don't really know what they are talking about so its kind of hard to stroll into an audio shop and ask questions.
Did they tell you that there are better subs for less than the W7, so you assume they don't know anything? If you are there asking questions, how do you know they're wrong? If you really believe the local installers are uninformed, and then you come on here and disagree with everybody as well, maybe...just maybe...you are wrong.

You probably haven't heard much then, so maybe see if anyone on the site is local and will demo what they have for you.

Moneybags is a member on here and had a 13W7 and stopped by a few months ago and heard my single HD315. He bought a DD9515 a few days later //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

His JL sub was decent but his DD sounds just as good and the output is SO much more with some insane lows...

Most on here don't buy JL because there's plenty of other subs/equipment that will do the same or more and cost less. Not everyone takes pride in overpaying //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

The hell are you talking about? I know they are wrong because I have tried what they told me, they looked it over and agreed and it did not work, nothing to do with preferance of a sub. I don't care if there are better subs out there, I like mine. I did not disagree with anyone on here. I said there are better subs out there im sure, I have just never had anyone show me one. I go to car meets about 3 times a week. 2 are 250+ cars

Its quite hard to prove a sub is better unless you do actual tests on them. Just because the company claims it handles 25000 watts doesn't mean it def. will or that their 25000 watt amp is giving that sub that many watts. Look at all the ghetto name brands out there with 9000 watt amps and stuff like that.

Yes I am a name brand person. I didn't buy $9000 HRE's because I thought they would look good on my car or impress other guys. I did it for one reason and 1 reason only, to impress ******. I travel a lot and believe me, I don't expect anyone that doesn't live or hasn't been to SF to understand. Illinois and Missippi and New York... you places are nothing like here. Hell, when I was in canada not long ago, if you had 20" rims you were king of the hill! I'm sure I opened a can of worms for you kids to play with "oh, you need it blah blah blah" No, I have money, I didn't earn it to sit on it for ever. I want to have fun with it so I buy what I like. Again, if anyone is down here in South Florida and has a speaker that has more drop than 2 13.5W7's and is equal or better quality, please tell me when and where you would like to meet.

I have a friend who just put 6 10" rockford I believe in his competiton cadillac CTS-V. That thing is by far the loudest car I have heard in a while. But again, they were 10's and the sound from a 10" doesn't exaclty do it for me so I will stick to bigger diameter subs. I haven't heard their high end 12's or bigger speakers so I can't say if I like them better. And come to think of it, I paid about 1/2 per speaker than he did, so I still kind of came out on top...

or how about you l
Why are you talking about my system? I never said I had the best system in the world. And if you don't think that Fi, Autotek, and Mark Antony are some of the best brands you can buy, well then you obviously need to do some research. Also my "sony explodes" that you seem to like to make fun of are actually a very high end component set. Have you actually seen the HF167s, or did you just see Sony and automatically assume they are junk?

Here's a few pics of my shitty sony's

I bet I spent less building my entire CarPC than you did on a single W7. And I've got every single feature that any "real high end" stereo system would have. My CarPC has a fully active digital crossover, any kind of EQ I want, and time delay, all adjustable right from the driver's seat. Not to mention all the stuff it could do that your stereo couldn't even dream of like bluetooth interface with my phone, wireless internet, OBD-II port diagnostics, GPS (Ok well maybe yours can do that), gaming, video playback, a 250Gb available library of music without ever putting in a CD, CD burning right in the dash, USB device playback, and more I'm probably forgetting.

And yes, I drive a relatively run of the mill cheap car and have put a lot of money into it. I bought the car completely stock for $2,000 back when I worked at a grocery store and had no money. Now that I make plenty of money as a computer programmer I saw no reason to buy a new car since mine was in perfect shape. I prefer to just work with what I have, and make it better, rather than just buying a nice car and having a shop install some overpriced generic equipment.

Anyway, I really don't know why I'm defending myself to you. You're the dumbass coming on here pissing everybody off with your claims of having the best system in the world with your overpriced overhyped mediocure performing subwoofers.

who tha hell said my shit was the best? I just said i've never heard anything better.

Those sonys are look like my W0's in my single cab. Anywho, my Z1 is great in my work truck, I don't need a carputer, thats why I have a computer. My shit lets me watch movies, listen to music, store my 300 sounds, and listen to XM. Thats all I need, thats all i want. I never talked shit about anyones system before I was prevoked. People came on here and started talking shit to me, probably because they can't afford my "mistakes". I asked for advice, not for some broke *** kid to tell me what I "wasted my money on" I don't believe I have ever seen Fi, Autotek, and Mark Antony in a audio shop. (maybe Autotek) I mean, yea there are good speakers out there, even my friend swears by his Mmats audio. I think its nice, maybe just as nice as mine, but he paid about double what I paid for my system. (he paid retail) Anyways, saying my shit is overhyped... hell yea, saying its mediocure, sounds like you need to do some research.

This is not an insult, but judging by your original question, and some of the stuff you have said in this thread, it is obvious that you really don't have much knowledge of car audio. Maybe you know some brands and a bit of basic theory, but you clearly don't have very much technical knowledge.

After deerhunter implied that your equipment wasn't the greatest, your entire mood changed drastically. You became very defensive and arrogant.

There are people on here that are just pricks, but the majority on here, myself included, originally came into this thread to help you out.

If you want help, it will be provided, but if you aren't willing to lose your insane amount of brand loyalty, then expect to be flamed.
