Can you hook up 2 hu at once?

hey can i hook up 2 hu at once and use both like maybe y out the power ground and acc ? The only one problem i am seeing though is that i own a 2003 toyota echo and the ground on this is the auto attenna needs to be in the hu for it to power on dont know why though. anyways this is what i am trying to do i have a dual din on the bottom and a sinle din on top so what i want to do is put my flip out screen on the single din and and other sq hu on the bottom double din i can convert the double to a single also so no need to wry. Anyways this is the dealo i am wanting to use a jensen vm9512 on the flip out it has alot of cool feature for my screen plus it has good sq and i want to use a eclipse cd7100 on the bottom so when i want to watch stuff i can have full volts for my pre amp outs cause i run zapco amps so i use syblink which will multiple u know so this is what i am trying to do can someone help me on how to wire this up or maybe give me a better option? and i dont want a screen from eclipse i want the jensen cause it plays multiple formats giga mp3s it has blue tooth and much more but not good sq options like a eclipse.

Here's what I'd do. I'm not going to sort through that atrocious thing you call a post, but you can hook up both at once, just splice power, ground and switched power for both, and then use the RCA out on the screen h/u and plug it in through the aux in on the sq head unit.

so i splice the red and black and the yellow right?

then i want to use rca out on the screen hu and plug it into the aux through the sq hu. But wont i lose sq on the songs i play? I mean if i play it thru the screen i use the eclipse to voulme the control i understand all of the so how do i set the settings one the screen eq and whats so not leave them all default? and turn off loudness correct? cause if i did it this way i could then just have the amp to one hu u know. is this all correct on what i am saying now?

Well here's the deal- Just use the DVD out on the Jensen. IIRC, its a constant volume, so you will not have to worry about volume and whatnot on the Jensen- it will all be handled through the secong h/u. Really, the only time you will be using the sound from the Jensen is when you're watching a movie. Even then, the sq won't be bad. But yes, you are correct on leaving all settings flat on the Jensen.

There is a switching circuit that you can buy that allows two heads to be connected at the same time. I had one when I was using an Nakamichi TD-700 tape deck and an Alpine 7914 CD player in the double DIN opening of my Subaru wagon.

Basically each unit's RCA's feed into it, it provides one set of RCA outs. The circuit switches output by sensing the remote trigger of the head unit being activated. I think I got it from Navone but it has been awhile. They do make them though.

I have a few thoughts:

First, why the hell are you splicing all of this shit into the factory harness. Just run new fused wires directly to the battery (for +12v and ground) and only use the switched power from the factory harness to turn the head units on and off. Less noise, cleaner wiring.

Second, who the **** cares about pre-out voltage. If you have Zapco amps I wouldn't expect them to be introducing any additional noise by having the gain turned up.

Third, why the hell do you need all of this? Alpine IVA-W200 + PXA-H701 would do all of this, look cleaner, probably sound better, and less would be left up to you to screw up trying to rig all this crap together.

Finally, what is your definition of "sq". You keep referring to it, but it is always in the context of "will i lose sq?", "what has the best sq?", etc. What do you mean by all of this? Sound quality is pretty subjective and if you are asking "will I degrade the accurate reproduction of the recorded material in any way?", don't even bother worrying about it because I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway.

No biggy, not everybody has money to spend so they improvise. Just tap into the Hu harness and run RCA from the preout on the DVD to the AUX in the Eclipse. Then when you want to watch dvd with sound, hit AUX on your Eclipse and now you should have CLEAN SQ from the eclipse.

He just said in his other thread that he wants the best "sq" and he was willing to pay around $800 bucks "ebay price" to get it.
