Can this power an amp

I have a 1000 watt rms single channel amp that is not being used and doing the math with a 2ohm sub, it appears i need 22 amps of power for this amp to run.

So assuming for the moment that the power will never go over 1000 watts could something like, Amazon.com: Pyramid PS26KX 22 Amp Power Supply: Car Electronics , power the amp without blowing up in 2 sec?

we need more info on what amp, and i have never know an amp to be able to only draw 22 amps and make 1k, unless its running on 220v plus.

for that amp to actually get close to rated your looking at around a 100a current draw, long story short, your going to need a bigger power supply, or you going to have to run it at a higher imp.

thx for the info.....i only have 1 available sub so is there a way to fake the amp into thinking theres higher impedance

LOL! I think you did your math wrong. It is not the square root of 1000/2. It is 1000x2. And that is not how much current you need, there are alot of factors. Are you trying to run this in your house?

Like phoenix said you will need a bigger power supply. And if anything error on the side of too big.

well when my neighbors **** me off I run rca's from the tv audio out to the amps input then run a extra battery I have laying around with a smart charger and extra sub and boom they get the hint, I've ran things this way for weeks on end with no problems but never 1000watts.
