I have a 99 ext. Cab s10 with a 3 cube sealed chambered box, with (2) JL 10w7's and a Kicker KX1200.1 w/ 4 gauge wire, 150 amp circuit breaker, and subs wired in parallel.

He has a 95 mazda 626 w/ 4 12"JL w3's older version w/ a Memphis 1600 watt 16m6100d, 0 gauge wire, in a sealed box 3 cube not chambered...

Does this seem like he should def. be louder than me, any way i can change it if so, and does 137db sound like a good number for my setup?

Not positive but I am pretty sure you could give each of your subs a bit more power then that amp is giving them. I know it says 500rms per sub but if seen them normally run 800rms or more

1st, you have 2-10's, and he has 4-12's......sounds like you need a custom box and some more power and bigger wire. Now, get the proper box made, get more power on the subs, and do all 1/0 guage wire, and it'll be a differemt story. There are guys here that would kill his 4-12's w/ just 1-10" sub.....its all in the install/details......not just the size/amount of woofers.

Now, also remember its in a p/u truck, so you may try facing the subs in different directions....you'd be suprised what a difference it makes firing the subs the right way in the right vehicle. It also seems to me like you should be in the 140 range w/ that system set-up properly.

You should be able to run 750 watts to each of those W7's. Also, a properly built ported box would give you an extra 3 dB or so. The recommended box size of a 10W7 is 1.5cu ft for a PORTED box... so you wouldn't lose much space.

Lol well thats a heck of a decision based on the price of a XXX. and the power you will need for one. Plus the box space.you would with out a doubt win in SQ.

Well now that I've had these responses I think it's time to sell the w7's and maybe get some 12" re XXXs'
well, buy my RE XXX 15" I have for sale then, and build a box for your truck!!!

I had 1600+ watts running it, and hit a 145.4 on the new tl in my chrysler 300, so it would kill his 12's.........I see you live in jersey also, so we could meet up, and you could save a few bux.

Otherwise its $375 shipped, and you can easily sell those w7's for more than that
