Can someone help explain what type of amp I need?

I have up front a pair of 4" Power Rockford Fosgates, 40 W RMS. A pair of 6.5's - 100 W RMS and in the rear, a pair of 6x9s - 100 W RMS. So I need a four channel amp, correct? The thing I don't understand is won't it be 140W RMS on two channels and 100 W RMS on the other two?

you will need 6 channels for all those speakers you will be running

2 chanels for the 4" 2 chanels for the 6.5 and 2 channel for the 6x9

i say 4-ch amp the 4 speakers closest to your ears and forget about the 'rears' since its only luxury for your rear seat passengers.
x2 fok those 6x9s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Or run the 4 front speakers @ 2ohms. You will get the same power that way and be able to run all 6 speakers on a 4 channel amp.

So front 4 speakers ran @ 2ohms on channel 1 and 2, then the rear speakers ran @ 4ohms on channel 3 and 4.
