When using pr's,are they only for sealed use or can you use the ported also?
I am calm brother. That's just how I talk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Samuel Jackson ftwcalm down dude, just asking. And thanks for the info anyways
Well, let's say you want to do a fifteen tuned low and have 4 cubic feet of space to work with.. What do you do.. With a standard port you don't even try, you do a ported twelve lol. With passives you can tune to any frequency you want and the "port" itself takes up no space inside the box.. My current setup is 5 cubes in a trunk tuned a 25hz.. If I wanted to build a proper sized port for 2 15's tuned anywhere near that low I'd need a couple extra feet of space just for the port, no way it'd happen. For subs with ALOT of motor force, like TC sounds drivers for a good example you often need very little airspace to get good low end output, but you really need a large port because of the air they can move. Also, you dont' have any issues with port compression or port noise for that matter. Just cut two holes and go.. Lastly, you can change tuning on the fly. I can go anwhere between 22hz and 45hz by just taking weight off of my passives. In my case, the passives have weight on the front side, I can take weight off of them in 30 seconds and BAM sounds like a whole new box.Passive radiators seem kind of pointless to me. Why not just do ported?
Lol, I know how they work. I just am not a fan.Well, let's say you want to do a fifteen tuned low and have 4 cubic feet of space to work with.. What do you do.. Passives take the best parts of ported, the extra output and effecicency, but takes away the downside, bigger box. Instead you get ported output in the box size not much bigger than you'd need for a sealed enclosure.
