Can someone explain this to me?

I have something that puzzles me. I can have my system full tilt in my garage and stand right outside the car and it doesn't seem that loud to me on the outside. But my parents will compain and say thatr they can hear it inside the house. I also got pulled over and the officer said I shook his car and I also get reactions from other other motorist. So why is it that it seems so soud to everyone else outside but when I stand outside myself it doesn't seem that loud where I would disturb others?

u probably got used to the loudness inside the car that you cant hear anything outside.

on this topic does it matter where the bass wave legth(dunno what its called) goes? Kinda like when i stand on the side of my car i can hear it but its not LOUD then when i stand right behind my car it seems to be pretty loud.

I was wondering the same. I can hear mine more directly infront of the car but not really on the sides.

You're probably standing in a path with a lot of cancelation due to the bass exiting both sides of the car.

Park behind a friend's car and then crank your setup and then go sit in the the other car. I do this to find the point where I'm not heard by the people around me and then I know how loud I can have it in traffic without being an ***.
