i can build a 8" to handle that power. ask penn with his 8" he was putting 700rms to his and it was begging for more. actually he goes thru subs quick he may even sell it. i can build you a nice 8" with 2.5" flat wound coil...

First off, I dont want you to think I'm dissin the idea, I'm actually interested in this concept if:

Fs low enough to use a coil for a decent Qts (.4-.5) and reach into the upper 20Hz range with no more than a +/- 1dB deviation anechoic?

Fs 34Hz Qts .42 would be idea,

if you supply the motor and i have a coil that fits it (2-2.5" coil) looking at $100.

the sub penn has will handle 1k DAILY and sound good doing it...
