i was wondering if anyone had the link i searched and found nothing looking for an explanation of a equalizer or crossover what ever it is used to tweak each speaker and what not

and also this will be my second system so i was wondering do i need an equalizer/crossover to set everything properly

my system will consist of

2 12's l7's ported

alpine 9857 or sosmething higher qualitly

front comps pg rsd's or cdt's

sub amp kicker 1500.1

rear doors something for rear fill maybe pg rsd's or kicker free air midbass

and door speaker amp 650.4 kicker

and all door deaden

is there a big reason for a equalizer and how hard are they to use

there not hard to use at all the make the bass and treble sound alot louder and clearer at least a 7 band is good a 9 band works really good for most set ups you just hook 3 wires up the power, ground and remote to the wires from your deck and its good the run the rcas from the amps to the EQ and then another rca from the EQ to the rear of the deck and your good to do you can adjust the inside speakers to how you want them when you have it turned on and you can also turn the bass on or off with the push of a button just incase you see the cops;)
