Can I use a separate 2nd tweeter?

Hi all,

Question to see if anyone has done this before and if I could damage anything. So I have had a set of component speakers in my front doors for years on my PT cruiser hooked up to a 50x4 amp and the woofer speaker finally blew but the tweeter is fine. Dont want to spend any money on speakers now and I have an old set of 3 way coaxials that I originially had in there before the components that only have probably 20-30 hours on them so practically new. I installed them back in the car and removed the crossovers that were in line with the components. Everything sounds decent but I am lacking the sound up high where the tweeters are mounted near the upper door. I am wondering if it would fill in a little bit for the highs if I reconnected the crossover boxes to the speaker inputs going to the coaxials now and just hook the old tweeter to the crossover. SO I would have a 3 way coaxial low in the door and this tweeter would be at ear level by dash. I am not an audiophile and it is probably not the bets setup but more looking to fill in with some highs up at ear level. Thx

You can hook up the extra tweeters but make sure you use your crossovers are the tweeter will blow you can hook up the old speakers as mids with the crossover and it will cut out the highs from the 3 ways or you can clip the wire powering the 3 way tweeters and just use the mid and everything should be just fine
