Hi all,
Question to see if anyone has done this before and if I could damage anything. So I have had a set of component speakers in my front doors for years on my PT cruiser hooked up to a 50x4 amp and the woofer speaker finally blew but the tweeter is fine. Dont want to spend any money on speakers now and I have an old set of 3 way coaxials that I originially had in there before the components that only have probably 20-30 hours on them so practically new. I installed them back in the car and removed the crossovers that were in line with the components. Everything sounds decent but I am lacking the sound up high where the tweeters are mounted near the upper door. I am wondering if it would fill in a little bit for the highs if I reconnected the crossover boxes to the speaker inputs going to the coaxials now and just hook the old tweeter to the crossover. SO I would have a 3 way coaxial low in the door and this tweeter would be at ear level by dash. I am not an audiophile and it is probably not the bets setup but more looking to fill in with some highs up at ear level. Thx
