I would stay within 25% of the large end. So if the max sealed is 1.00 I would not go over 1.25.....

Some ppl really like the low boomy sound which you can get from a box like this.

i would only go 1.00 cube to less it wouldnt sound right at all, and to much air space thin the sub will sound like your free airing it.

Some drivers really respond well to low Qtc alignments...

And as far as damping, IB is usually the best. The boomy sound is actual sub-bass and the "lack of punch" is the lack of a response peak in the upper bass range. Most people dont like the sound of accurate is what it amounts to.
