another problem with 8's is port area. some of these 8 need like18-20 in^2 per cube and your port can easily be 40 inches long.

That takes up a ton of box space. Like the sa-8's back years ago; even though programs said I wouldn't get noise, customer were saying they were getting a little at 16 in^2 per cube with square ports. That's wild to me. Only time that happens with larger woofer is when they are like 3000w+ plus woofers.
