So it's not like you're losing a bunch of space, because the woofer effectively is larger than your standard 8"
I compared a square kicker L7 8 to 2 8s, not a single 8. You’re right, they do have a larger cone area than a single 8, but not 2, and I’m not actually saying they aren’t decent subs, but they do need to be in a properly sized box, which happens to be twice as large as a lot of other 8s need. I’ve choked kicker subs into small boxes many times for customers who insisted on it, and the results were less than stellar. I actually like them better sealed than ported. 2 of their square subs in a sealed enclosure is about the same sized box as doing 1 of them ported, which is where their extra cone area can be an advantage. IMO.Yeah but kicker 8's have a bigger cone area than most 8's, they're probably more like between an 8 and a 10 in terms of cone area.
I ran 2 - 8" Polk Audio subs in a 2007 Mustang. I was pleased with the sound.ive never heard 8’s im jus wonderin , ive been watching jacob virals videos and people run 4 8’s i havent seen anyone w 2 8’s in a trunk build before lol

I ran DD and sundown, and can agree that they smash kicker all day. They also don’t require 1.25 cubes to do it. That was my point to begin with.
Getting a pallet of subs delivered for a single install would be a good story to tell.Yeah I'm following you, no disagreement. I'm saying it's tough with 8's to find that balance. I am saying that if the higher quality subs take more space to work, the so be it. But that'll be up to whoever's system it is.
I want to do a series 6th order with like 64 8's or something. Anybody wanna buy 64 8's and let me design it?

E8. Originals. On a Sundown sae-1200. Cool ass custom box that fit behind the seats. Firing up. There's pics on here somewhere but it's been long ago. Then I took out the passenger seat and put a z15 on a 1500 in.sundown x or sa ?
M = mid engineIsn't the engine behind the seats in an MR2?
