Yup! I was thiking of making smaller chamber for the 8 and bigger chamber for the 12 , thanks for that adviceeven with different cahmbers i wouldnt but thats me, but you can do whatever you want. but if you do build a box or have one built for all four subs. make sure your 12 inch chambers are recommended cubes, and the same with you 8's. dont make all the chambers the same size, build them to specs
thanks for that comment, I'm kind of use to it ...... I try to go with the flow and avoid fightsYeah, there is nothing wrong with being new... so don't feel afraid to answer questions. So you are saying that a 12" sub and an 8" sub of the same model are going to reproduce the same sine wave EXACTLY?ehh, I'm only going to say this one time.
DIFFERENT SIZE SUBS WON'T CAUSE CANCELLATION!!!
it will however cause an irregular frequency responce, which still isn't benefitial, however, it's not inherently too much worse than porting subs, it's just less predicatable. All that said, however, I can't say I can reccomend mixing sub sizes.
lol, ah... physics says, that if the sub is being fed the same sinewave, its going to reproduce the same sinewave... unless you have magic subs, which when fed 50Hz, give 55Hz? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifSo you are saying that a 12" sub and an 8" sub of the same model are going to reproduce the same sine wave EXACTLY?
Yea ok buddy, its simple physics. The same motor and voice coil moving a cone that is heavier is not going to produce the exact same note.
How many people are going to actually take the time and have the money to correctly setup and tune that though? It can be done, and has been done nicely. Most people want to throw the subs in and let them play everything.also, there's no reason you couldn't have two 15inch subs, playing 20 - 50Hz, then two 8inch woofers playing 50 - 80Hz.

I don't rec. mixing subs, it's just dumb.lol, ah... physics says, that if the sub is being fed the same sinewave, its going to reproduce the same sinewave... unless you have magic subs, which when fed 50Hz, give 55Hz? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
it MAY cause cancellation, doesn't mean it will, doesn't mean it wont.
also, there's no reason you couldn't have two 15inch subs, playing 20 - 50Hz, then two 8inch woofers playing 50 - 80Hz.
who said subwoofer?I don't rec. mixing subs, it's just dumb.
And I would not rec. playing subs at 20-50hz, and the playing an 8inch woofer 50-80hz.
Fact is just because it is smaller in size, it is still a dedicated subwoofer. 80hz is not the frequency a subwoofer should be playing. That pushing into midbass territory. plus, transitions liek that would most likely not sound very good.

Ummmm....?
The size in and of itself won't cause cancellation, but the differences in parameters will cause some. It's not nearly the total cancellation that most seem to think that it is but it does make for a ragged frequency response as you alluded to. The only way it woulld affet the freq response is if some interference occurred, both destructive (cancellation) and constructive (reinforcement). This doesn't just happen with subs either. Any time you have different drivers playing the same freqs you will have the same problem.ehh, I'm only going to say this one time.
