Just installed this amp http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6097

to run my comps, turned it on and all was good.

It played for under a minute (speakers sounded better powered by the HU) and went into protect mode right away, the red light is on.

Turned everything off and when I turn it on the right speaker moves out all the way and pops, that's all it ever does. No smoke, no smell, no heat, nothing ?!?

I had the gains all low, volume low as I just started the thing up.

Unplugged the speakers first, no change.

Unplugged the RCA's, no change.

Unplugged the remote "on" wire (jumped the positive to the remote terminal), no change.

Basically, the amp just sitting there getting 12.4volt engine off 13.65volt motor running goes right into protect mode.

I'm thinking of temporarily hooking up another HU with temp. wiring to see if anything changes. Worth a try ?

Or is this one DOA ?

i have a cadence zrs1502 for 150

so when you get a refund for the budget amp let me know and i'll gladly send you one worth spending the money on.

those models were discontinued 6months after they were released

Check the load on the speakers
I'll do that tomorrow, even with the speakers disconnected it was still staying in the protect mode.

I was thinking of temporarily hooking up a different HU and speakers but other than that I'm lost.

With Xmas just around the corner I might have to get any old amp from a local pawn shop until this gets cleared up.

i worked at a cadence dealer shop and every 3rd one of the TX line came in smelling like it was fried. the ZRS and Daytona lines are actually made by Cadence, TX is more of a stamping on the heatsink

This amp was going to run my components (CDT CL62).

My sub is running off an old a$$ Kenwood that has been to hell and back (there was 1" of salt on the board at one time).

A new sub and amp will be next on my list.

I am not sure where you get your info from..

The TX line was in production from 2006-2008 and were made by Cadence.. These amps were introduced online over a year ago and just discontinued as of 2 months ago..

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
