Can you go to CA school at 17 years old? My parents are willing to help me open my own CA shop as long I go to CA school to prove my knowledge in the business. I know school is nearly worthless but they dont understand that, im sure ive learned most of whats needed to be know off of this website and past installs. Any info would help me out a lot, thanks.

That def makes sense, the main reason for opening this would be so that I would go to school locally like UCF for my real profession later in life. Otherwise im going to UF/FSU.

I'd bet to say you are just into this hobby of ours called car audio.

By the time you're older, it will still be a hobby but as a career it might become dull. I was thinking the same way a few years ago when I got started in this hobby but now, that's all it is; a hobby. I don't want to be doing this all day everyday. That's why I'm going to college now....Just a thought.

If you do, expand. Don't just stick with a CA degree.

x3. Maybe research why soo many shops these days are going out of business, and realize that no matter how much you "Learned on CA.com" that you will eventually lose out to larger, more established shops and online sellers. Just keep it as a hobby and do it for $$$ on the side while getting a real education, you won't regret it.

I went to Mobile Dynamics in Toronto when I was 17.

Its not worthless at all.

You get to learn some valuable techniques and tricks of the trade that you may never learn without having at least 5 years of experience working with other professionals.

Trust me, no matter how much you "Think" you know, it aint much.

But just a word of warning. Car audio shops have been on a downward slope of success for years.

The best thing to do is to learn CA, fabrication, engine work, body work, and upholstery, and work in a shop gaining experience for 5-10 years. then open your own al in one shop.

Your parents are idiots, and you are destined for failure.
Your an idiot, and yea im sure my dads an idiot lol he would laugh at you, how are they stupid for trying to open new assets? Which it will be because all the CA shops around here are rocking the sony xplod shit. I could sell middle line shit to the mexicans around here and theyd be having a fiesta, ***.

sorry for grammar mistakes i have a boxers break in my hand. only using one hand to type.
