C4 Corvette convertible System

I have an older C4 Corvette convertible and am looking to replace the Bose factory system. I have a 1.5 din opening two rear speaker and the door speakers. I am not sure what the best options are in components or brands.

I have been told a set of 5 1/4” will fit in the doors and maybe smaller 8” subs or something else. Not too sure how it would be with just door speakers and subs. Any advice on what to use speaker and head unit wise as well as an amp and possibly subs. Thanks

I'm no salesman or want to be, as far as what you are after is up to your goals. Realistic ones.
I'd suggest a mild upgrade including HU and coax or separates in the front locations to stay on HU or lower amplified power. A pair of 8's or something that'll fit in back on 1000w or less to allow for the factory charging system. Everyone wants "esoteric" audio /w/ big pricetags while forgetting the obvious. If its a user system a solid substage and decent hi's are usually enough. Now if you'd rather chase that rabbit and seek sq/sql/spl well... the 1st thing I would advise is plan out locations especially up front. Corvettes have a long narrow cabin and do have natural localization issues if not addressed up front. The low end is usually up to your bank account at that point... haha. Don't sleep on a set of 8's in that small cabin, they'll certainly surprise anyone if done right

I am not looking to go all out. I just want to have a system I can hear with the top down. I was hoping to a system that isn’t going to break the bank and still sound good. So a decent head unit which I don’t even know what fits or is any good and a set of component speakers for the front if need be and small subs for the rear compartments. Any idea on the make of equipment I should be looking at? All I know of are Kenwood Alpine Rockford Fosgate PPI and Soundstream. So stuff from over 30’years ago. Thanks.

I'd say its a convertible up front to be clear, and brands like what you quoted can be pretty ok but there are far better options nowadays. I have my go to brands but won't nuthug and become a salesman. Others can chime in about that. I just do enclosures and system design

I did mention it was a convertible from the outset. Thanks for your help.
