Chris also did further testing and upped the RMS of the Threatcon 4 to 1500. He's updated the C2 Audio.com website and car stereo giant reflects the change as well.

1500 watts rms for one 12 is insane. I may just use a deathcon 4 in a ported box in the ***** Am. I have a Hifonics 16001.D to power it. Should be perfect.

that will work what electrical you have? those hifonics are a bit ch power hungry

Well, I definitely need a better battery for sure. But, you know, it doesn't even seem to pull that bad. I mean if my subs are really humping they may ever so slightly dim the headlights but I've had much worse in the past. Wiring is 4 guage, stock alternator, cheap battery from what it looks like and it appears to be getting old because it constantly corrodes the terminals, a sure sign of a battery getting older. My thing is, is to get someone to build me a nice ported box for 1 12. I emailed subthump and they never got back with me.

W6 is a great all around driver for sure. One of the better ones on the market to be honest, but it is not a 1k driver by any means.

Wouldn't recommend every one run them on 1k but I have seen it done and it was a nice surprise.

Its not bad of a pull because your not getting 1600 watts. The C2 4 is a 4 inch coil if you don't have 2.5k to put to the sub I wouldn't bother. A 3" inch coil will be more efficient on your power. In regards to you saying one 12 can take 1200 RMS is crazy there's single sub set ups that are 6-7k with a single level 6 and tantric SHDs

Seen lots of dc tantric hdc4 single daily drivers on 6-7k ..if u cant design a 4" coil sub and dont feel comfortable rating it at a measly 1500 then dont make it at all

To be quite honest, I have definitely had much worse systems. I put this together to just see how good it could sound on a very low budget.

Sony CXS-GT5616F $59

2 Kenwood KFC-3013Ps $120

Alpine components up front $59

Audiopipe MidBass speakers in the sails $40

Factory's in the very back

All highs using stock monsoon amp(actually quite decent and clean sounding, highs scream)

2 12 box made for Camaros and TransAms(sealed) wasn't that sturdily built but I fixed it with screws and gorilla wood glue $55 +$7 for the screws and glue

Hifonics 16001.D $200

4 guage KukuConcepts wiring kit $32

I'm out a whopping $572 I don't think I did too bad on a small budget. Yes, I;m not hitting the lows very well but that's purely in the box. Those Kenwoods will hit very well low in the right box.

If I redo the box and sub I'll put those Kenwoods in my wife's Trailblazer SS and get another Hifonics 1600.1 D to power them.
