WV is full of inbred white trash. you have no economy to be in the shitter. I went with a friend of mine that salvages out cotton mills etc. when they shut down. The employees from the mill that were helping out were some of the dumbest people i've ever met. they were talking about working in that shithole for 15 or more years BRAGGING about making $8 an hour. If $8 an hour is big money after 15 plus years no wonder the jobs haven't left. Anyone dumb enough to fall for that couldn't wipe their own *** without getting shit on their face. How about you do some research:
WV has 2 auto plants, 1 manufactures Toyota engines, another manufactures lexus.

Most domestic businesses are foreign owned nowadays anyway.

How about you show me your source on the Domestics employ 4x more americans than foreign, because I think you just made it up. AND even IF it is true, it wont be in 2 years because GM and Ford will have to restructure to compete, there is no point in paying 4x as many workers to do the amount of work that can be done by 1/4 of them.

I'm with you on this one bud. Coming from a GM family I was originally disinclined to liking "foreign" auto manufacturers. As I did some research, I saw far more jobs being created by foreign car manufacturers than domestic ones. For instance, there is a local glass plant here that does nothing buy make auto glass for 3 toyota car lines. It employs around 120 hard working Americans.

Unless immediate and appropriate changes are made in the way GM manages it's operations, it's pretty much doomed to fail. Corporate greed, union greed, mis-management, and broad inefficiencies play a major role in GM's downfall. Bailouts seldom fix the problem - take USPS for example. For years USPS has been hemorrhaging money and the Government is always there to subsidy them. As long as the handout is there, why bother fixing anything?

If the U.S. auto manufacturers can't survive in this climate, what are they going to do when they have to contend with even cheaper alternatives like the Tata Nano, which is made in India and costs $2500 brand new, hit the U.S. market?

Your not paying for the option its self but the design and cost to build that vehicle. Because American employee's are generally more expensive to employ as workers, GM plants cost more to run.

I understand that, but the excess cost to employ outdated union workers is the reason why they cost more. They rid themselves of that and they MAY have a chance

What does that have to do with anything? Its also a very stupid statement as cost of living varies from place to place. A condo in Chicago can buy you a huge house in Madison WI. Jobs also pay higher there then they do here. Its all about the local economy.

The problem is then with the Union workers. They wouldnt take a pay cut to save their jobs. I think the workers should take the hit not the the company and the people who drive and love their GM's.

i drive a GM for now. id rather see them go belly up instead of a merging with dodge. only time dodge was a good product was pre-1986

now they are overpriced junk

Dodge trucks are still nice and didn't cost my dad and I as much as a Chevy/Ford equivalent.

I got my 1/2 ton, 4-door, sport package, with a Hemi in '04 for 21k. My dad got his '03 3/4 ton, 4-door, 4x4, HD, with a Hemi for 28k. Sticker on mine was 31k, his was 37k. I have 93k on mine with no issues, and his is nearing 200k with now issues. His last '96 Dodge had 180k when he sold it, and it had no issues...The new Dodges are expensive though. A fully loaded 1/2 ton stickers for nearly 50k now...crazy that it's gone up 15k since I got mine.

what is with all of the hate on American cars? It seems like a lot of people in here think that if it's american it's automatically a POS. That is the farthest thing away from the truth.

The big mistake the Big 3 made is to focus so much on SUV's and Trucks. If they would have put more focus on cars before the whole fuel crisis thing, i bet they wouldn't be in AS much trouble.

Go drive some of Chevy's new cars/trucks and tell me they're shitty. the new malibu is actually a pretty nice car. the new suburbans and tahoes are amazing IMO.

i'm also not just an American car company nut hugger. I drive a mazda millenia S, my dad drives a 2005 nissan maxima. our american cars are a 64 corvette, 2004 suburban and 2001 jeep grand cherokee.

No, I can just look at multiple views. I still feel the same way I did before listening to them, I just understand their view point. Why am I an idiot?
