Buying a system in less than 2 weeks.... AND...

Have a couple questions. Ok first off my high school has a car show every year at the school parking lot. There is a part of that show where people around the area compete with their systems. For the past 2 years this kid in a hummer kept winning. He has 2 12" Alpine type R's, the box is a little wierd, looks like 2 volcano's. But he also has 2 PDX-2.150 amps. I dont know how many DB's he's hitting but i want to beat him this year. What i am purchasing from RAYS ELECTRONICS in Addison IL is 2 12" alpine Type R's forgot the name of the amp, cap, and all that general stuff. My question is in order to beat him how high do you think i should tune the box? And if what im saying sounds possible with my system. Oh and its going in a 1998 Nissan Altima

why buy the same subs as he has? like already said, he has an suv and you have a trunk. i'd aim more for an spl geared sub. ported, and either have the seats down or port the rear deck if possible.

well get one 18" fi or something like btl go for high cone area and shit load of power fold or lay seat down do not tune to 45 hz way too high you would peak high into the 50-60's tune more to like 32-35 hz's are you guys being metered on a termlab

Well i totally understand that, its true about the same subs. But i dont have too much money to begin with, i my other choice would of been 2 15" Mojo's... the new '08 version. One itself is like 1500 RMS
