I'm wondering if you have or know of somewhere I can get a 200 amp (at least) alternator for my 1995 Honda civic LX

Answer:

We have three models that will fit your vehicle. First is the 20-250-43G-1G ($392.00) rated @ 150Amps "HOT" (185Amps "COLD") next is the 20-275-43G-1G ($454.00) rated @ 175Amps "HOT" (210Amps "COLD") and last is the 20-300-43G-1G ($534.00) rated @ 200Amps "HOT" (240Amps "COLD"). All three require an adapter bracket kit ($50.00) and an adapter plug ($35.00) for the install. Should you have anymore questions, just call our tech support @ 760-956-7596 or email us. To place an order call 888mechman (632-4626) or email us.

What is "Excessive", a company that sells alternators? Do you have an web address?
I still have yet to even hear anything back from mean green, and the other company just was too expensive. I am still looking and emailing a few places to find the right alternator for my car at the right price.

Thanks

I looked at Mr Alternator and only saw that the civic 92-95 alternator for my engine is only 120 amp. I would like to have around 200.

90-95 Civic & CRX 1.5, 1.6 120 AMP $185.00

I did find one from AlterStart but it is only 150 amp amd cost $250

1992-1995 Civic 1.5L, 1.6L

you need more than 70 at an idle. my stock one was 70 at an idle and it would struggle at times.

I checked the web site, I thought that the sub could only handel 600 watts.
Power Handling: 600 watts RMS.
Do a search for the word "Magnum" on these forums. What you'll come up with is a hefty explanation on our power handling rating. The Magnums have handled well over 2000 watts for SPL applications, and they will handle 1000 watts from an amplifier just fine. Do a search and you'll come up with a lot of answers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ok, I did a search and people say different things, But for the most part people say the Magnum can take the 1000 watts. So what ohm setting? I thought the D2 is 2 ohm dual voice coil sub.

The amp I was going to get to power the Magnu with 500 watts: The HiFonic BX1000D is 1ohm 1000 watts and 2ohm 500 watts. Should I get the Hifonic BX1500 (1ohm 1500 watts, 2ohm 1000 watts) instead?

Maybe I just don't understand the propper wat to hook the amp to the sub.

Thanks, It did take a while to read through al the strings and posts with the words "Magnum" in them. If people know that the answer is in the form somewhere else it would be nice if they just inserted a link to the speciffic form wher the info is at.

at least 100 amp. i know the excessiveamperage alt. was 100 and doms 200 amp for my car was 110

As you stated, the Magnums are a dual 2 Ohm driver. Wiring up the coils in parallel will give you a 1 Ohm load, which will be perfect for the bx1000 because it does 1000 watts into a 1 Ohm load. 1000 watts will be just fine for a Magnum. You don't need 1500, but you can put it on there if you desire.

Try Ohio Generator they seem to be very reliable and affordable, Many good comments on their page!! Check out their catalog!!! E-mail them for specifics. I will be purchasing a custom 300 amp alt. FEB 13-15, it should be finished by then.

I just got a quote from Excessive AMperage, and it is Cheaper than the quote I got from Dominck. Is there a reason I should use one over the other besides the price difference?

Thanks

I think I will stick with the bx1000 since I understand how to wire it now.

Thanks
