building system

Originally posted by MUGEN! i might ask? i you going for the brand names or the quality of sound it brings. i mean you really want alpine.. i have no qualms about that my there are better things out there that wont cost you that much! and btw, forget the rear speakers man have a good front in kick panels. and good subs TYPE - r subs are good but there are better subs out there. KICKER, ELEMENTAL DESIGN BRAHMA it all boils down to your listening preference. go to some local audio store and listen to them.
where online can i look at those types of subs?

Originally posted by MUGEN! components have a midbass driver and a separate tweeter.

regular coaxial speakers have everything concentric, meaning the tweeter is mounted on the midbass driver.
how do you install the tweater if it is no mounted on the speaker already?>

Take a step away from the name.

You seem like the type of guy who has people to impress.

Are they going to be impressed by a moderatly loud system that flashshes $$$

or a Loud System that makes their bowels slip? (if of course that was possible)

I agree look into some Brahama or Eles...shit if you got the $ why not take alook at XXX (not ****, ah go ahead, you got the money)

If you are insistant in name why not look at few JL w6v2....pricey but good

I noticed you said nothing about RF and that makes me happy.

BTW do look into MB Quarts or CDT componets...they will scream.

$3000 can get you far, specially if you get some friends to help you do the install by yourself. If you must have it professionaly installed...be sure you shop around. Some shops will whomp on you if you bring your own equipment

BTW a componet tweeter should be mounted so that your front stage if more filled.

I normaly put mine on the A pillar

Just take the plastic pillar piece off, put a small hole in it and drop the wire beind it, screw the back mount onto the plastic. After tat is self explanitory

yeah, get away from the "mainstream" brands except for ur HU. I agree, look into a HU that is soemthing alpine. They make great HU, make sure to get mp3 compatibility...it's a definite plus! For front stage components, check out CDT and Focal...and for back stage something like a Koda dedicated midbass. For ur components amp, look into the US Acoustics USX4085. And, as for subs...1 12" Brahmas and 2 ED ninE.1 amplifiers. Put them either in a sealed box, or a ported box tuned low....to about 25hz for SQ while being hella loud. Then spend some money on quality wires and custom installation if u want it. so, basically i agree with Snova....just a lil more specific. But yeah, everyhting i listed is great quality products. AND, u can do wonders w/ 2-3000 dollars for a system. good luck, tell us if ya have ne more questions. peace

Not sure about rear fill..what size speakers do you have? http://www.crutchfield.com

Alpine head unit (cant remember what model....with 3 out puts, no internal amp)

Us Acoustics amp for the components, another for the rear fill

but which are better, brahmas or eclipse? also, i don't want all spl, i want a mix of sq and spl. thats's one of the reasons i wanted the type rs when i first started looking,.

dude they just told you brahmas are great "SQL" subs, sql is a mix od SPL and SQ. Eclipses are good, i beleive the brahma may win though. If you want flashy eclipses then go for it, youll be satisfied with their performance but I think brahma is the way to go...

Brahmas have amazing SQ, I repeat, AMAZING SQ. It puts out a lot of SPL, yes, but the sound quality is so phenomenal, you won't even want to turn it up for daily driving. That's just me though. Yes, Brahma is good for SQL. I have no first-hand experience with eclipse, but I heard they're good. (?)

just some questions... how does a cap hook up, do you need one for each amp? and how do two amps hook up to the receiver, two sets of rca wires?

here is what I am positive on so far... alpine head unit, eclipse subs, but should i get dvc or not?

so all left to decide on is amps and frlomnt componets adn rear speakers. for amps i had ideas of audiobahn, eclipse, adn us acoustics. for cpeakers i thought infinity, mb quart, or boston acustics.

also, does anyone on the baords have a setup on a 4th gen max?

out of those, I can tell you one thing: No, you do not need one cap per amp. But I, along with other people on this forum, will discourage you from buying caps because there are better ways to solve the electricity supply problems.
