This is just a guess because i have never heard a 13W7 but i bet that my RE XXX hits harder than that...

i don't know, but remember the 1000/1 and the w7 were built for each other. every aspect of each design was to mate with the other.

2400rms at 1 ohm huh, were do you come up with this crap, were trying to help this guy don't tell him all this bullshit, go to jbl.com, its 1200 at 1 or 2 ohms, like i said before. get your facts straight before you go and correct someone

well to be honest....the jbl is a good amp....the amp is not going to determine the sq of a sub...thats determined mainly by the sub and the type of box it isin and the install.....so if your planning on running a jbl1200.1 to a 13w7 you should be good to go....however im not a big fan of the w7's...they are a bit overated in my opinion....but ohh well...

take in mind that i have never heard the w7 before, but the difference is night and day between amps. i have heard stories of people running amps on w7s, then switching to a JL1000/1, they said the difference WAS night and day.

in my own experience, i used a RF amp for a setup i had, then switched to a JL amp. the difference was certainly noticable.

IMO, id go with the JBL 1200.1... even if the 1000/1 does have slightly better SQ, is it worth all the extra money when a 1200.1 is still an excellent amp... thats for you to decide..

I'm getting a JBL BP1200.1 for my single 12W7 until I can afford a pair of JL 1000/1 amps (and a second 12W7). I too have heard that the JL amp really fits well with the W7's, but good luck finding a shop that can even get one in for you. I was told that if I wanted one, I should expect it to be at least another couple months before it would arrive. It's just like the supply of W7's from the JL authorized dealers - very limited. I don't know if the supply situation is better from the internet dealers (which aren't authorized, hence provide no warranty), but I'm sticking to my local shops for now, even though they are a bit more costly.

I'll let you all know what I think of the 12W7 matched to the BP1200.1 when I get it. Until then, I'm running a JBL BP300.1 on my 12W7, which is severely limiting the response range of the sub at higher volume levels.
