Building a hidden compartment...

I was interested in building a hidden compartment in my car similar to theses... YouTube - 96 impalla in-dash electronic storage compartment

and was wondering if anyone has done something similar to this before? As far as I can see I would need to remove the passenger airbag, create a container to put in its place and connect the airbag lid to some electric motors. Tips? ( I know its not audio but car customization)
