that **** i dont like
Hey guys, I'm looking to start up a YouTube channel soon, so I need a new computer. The wife wants a Mac but I know for sure I can build a better computer for the same price. So with that being said, this is what I need it to do:

-upload 4K video in a decent time frame

-stream live video in 4K

-be able to video edit on a professional level

-handle daily activities such as paying bills, using word, excel etc. (I know this isn't a problem)

My budget is $1500 but I'm willing to go up to $1800 if need be. If I'm missing anything let me know, that's why I'm here. If my price point is off then let me know about that as well. Just trying to get a clear cut plan so I can move forward. Thanks guys.

Didn't put any thought into this really other than processor and video card. But for a ball park figure, $800 would get you all you needed.

Honestly i recommend AMD proccesors. I have a 6350 - 6 cores at 4.2ghz and it barely breaks a sweat. Combine a new amd ryzen with a gtx 980 or 1080 and 16+gb of ram and a 1tb ssd and it would play great

Doesn't sound like you require much graphical horsepower, so I would put most of the budget into a decent CPU + RAM. Forget the FX series, and anything 4 core/4 threads (i.e. i5). I would recommend a Ryzen 7 (8C/16T) series CPU and 16-32GB 2933-3200MHz RAM with latencies around CL13-14. Something like a 1700X/1800X will blow a 7700K into the weeds when it comes to doing what you want to do (i.e. not gaming). Ryzen benefits from higher RAM speeds/tighter timings. Pair these with a decent B350 mobo, a GPU like the GTX 1050 Ti/1060, an 80+ PSU around 5-600w (I don't recommend the Corsair CX series) and storage in the form of one (possibly two, or one larger one if budget permits) primary SSD(s) for the OS and HDD for other files and you are set. I am not too familiar with US pricing, so if money is still there after all this, you may wish to consider a GTX 1070 instead.

Using the 6350 with a 1080 would be like putting an ls1 into a chevy cruze.
UserBenchmark: AMD FX-6350 Six-Core vs Intel Core i5-7600K
Pretty much lol. I just meant that I recommend amd, not the 6350 for his application. I personally have the 6350 and its good for what i do and i chose it because its cheaper than a comparable intel card. I mainly just meant to be sure to include amd instead of just intel. I heard the new ryzen chips from amd are supposed to be fantastic.

just get the threadripper from AMD which is intel's core I9's killer with 16 pretty fast cores about 30% faster for video rendering. Then 800 on the rest of the computer.

For video editing and rendering the CPU is way more important than the video card.

This is the performance difference you'll see from a basic b*tch I7 7700k intel to the thread ripper 1950x that will make all your video edits and renders be like minutes vs hours. It also stays cooler than the i7 counterpart.... which is astounding considering how hot their bulldozer/piledriver junk ran.
