Build In My 1989 Mercedes-Benz 300SE - AudioQue HDC312 + Hifonics BXI1608D + 2.3ft^3

Well, about a week ago a friend of my mom gave me this car for free.....so i figured I'd throw a lil system in it......and it is my first car and this is going to be my first system.

So the car I have is a 1989 Mercedes-Benz 300SE .

and the system I am throwing in it is going to consist of....

SUB: AudioQue HDC3 12"

AMP: HiFonics BXI1608D (~1600w)

BOX: 2.3ft^3 tuned to 38hz and is "Homemade" by me.

as for the regular speakers in the doors and stuff will come last.....but I am going to get the following.

HEADUNIT: Sony CDX-GT820IP

Front In-dash speakers (4"): Eclipse SE4000

Front Door Speakers (6 1/2"): Focal 165-A1

Rear Deck (6 1/2"): Eclipse SC6500

Speaker Amp: HiFonics ZXi6408 (85w x4 @ 4ohm)

Now.....as for the sequence of things getting done, so far it goes like this.....

Saturday 7/26: Building box. (must sit for 24 hours after being built)

Sunday 7/27: Ordering Door Speakers and Head Unit.....and Carpeting Box (once the 24 hour wait time is complete)

Monday 7/28: Amp and Amp Kit will arrive in the mail.

Tuesday 7/29: Break time....nothing really to do that day...just got to work.

Wedsdy 7/30: Subwoofer will arrive in the mail. Hopefully UPS doesn't damage it..

Thursdy 7/31: Waiting for the last of the door speakers and speaker amp....

Friday 8/1: Focal speakers and speaker amp will come in the mail...... THEN INSTALL TIME BABY !!!!

Saturday/Sun: BREAKING IN THE HDC3 !!!!!! AND WHAMMMMMMIN !!!!!!!

Now....as for the materials for building the box today (7/26):

Sheet of MDF (3/4 in.)....(not in picture) (in the garage)..... $26

Glue: TiteBond III $8

Drywall Screws (1 5/8 in.) $5

Silicon II Sealant $4

Black spray paint for inside the port.... $1

Spray adhesive to carpet the box. $5

Roll (5 yards) of carpet. $15

As for the tools for the box build are at my grandpas house.....I am going to build it there and he might give me a little hand if need be......he used to do some carpenter work so he has plenty saws drills ect.....

I will update with pics of the box build tomorrow night wen it's all done......

wow.....nice....lol...i would of never guessed that someone on here would have the "same" car as me......

and wow.....an 18 in there....lol.....kind of pushing it ??? lol

I was going to do a HDC3 15"....but then I decided to keep some trunk space so I went down to a 12".....I didnt want to give up my whole trunk......

but yeah.....good luck with the mtx 9500.......my boy down the block got an 8500 12".....they are pretty decent i must admit.....

dang, i wish i was that organized when i start my builds. i just kinda dive in and whatever gets done first gets done first lol. Good luck on the rest of the build, and like stated above pics of the car please!

and please dont mind the sloppy smeared glue and silicon caulking......its going to get a light sand n e ways and then carpeted over ....

but mine isn't diesel...lol....mine is gas (300SE)....the diesel ones have a "D" somewhere in the model name.....lol

300D is diesel

i got mine for 1k just about the same condition minus my center unit 's wood grain is cracked
