BTL 18 Daily Box

I will most likely buy a BTL 18 in the next few weeks. I was thinking 33-34 hz (its for a daily)My max dimensions are 37in width, 22h, 24in depth(can go more if absolutely necessary). Not sure on port area, but was thinking in the ballpark of 100-120.

thats about 9.5cubes gross for the deminsions you gave

what are you looking for? low bass, a good mix, SPL machine?

ive got mine in 6cubes, but thats about as big as i could go before the box started getting even more stupid big

the lows arnt the best, but they are in small box tuned to 35hz and the main part is my vehicle, if the subs were firing back it would be alot better lows

Tuning Freq: 32.95 Hz

Port Area: 103.69 sq/in

billyrodriguez - what type of vehicle is this going in. This sounds like you have a 2 door blazer and you want to keep your back seats because those dimensions are almost exactly what I have to work with.

I'm looking to build a box for (2) 15's that's 37w x 23h x 24d in the next weekend. It looks close to rpfuror's design, but I made it without the L port with my design it's just a straight port with 107sq.in. of port area. Watch for it next weekend.

For my Fully Loaded 18" BTL I had it in 6.8 cubes @ 31hz with 100sq.in. of port and it was hella loud!

It was 37w x 19h x 26d...

Here's a good pic to show how big this box really is, I actaully laid it down flat in my blazer, I just had it upright so I could mount the sub....

So u probably want sub up port back right?

The box that I built for the BTL was loud but didnt bring out the lows around the 30-32hz range that well. It tended to sound the best at the 36-40hz range, those notes sounded great and got very loud at that range.

Maybee try using flared aero ports. Have you ever considered that?

I would do sub up and ports firing to the side, I bet you get some good sq with this setup.

(6) 4" aero ports @ 22" long will get your 7cuft box (37x22x24) tuned at 34hz with 75sq.in. of port area.

the fs is to high on those driver to get really "defined" note that low.... it will be loud just based on the size of the driver just not well defined lower then the fs value.
