Trying to bridge my kenwood kac 7205 to my 12 inch kicker cvr. The sub is currently just running off one channel and getting 250 watts rms. Its a 400 watt sub so im gona bridge it so the sub can get full power. Is this really all i need to do? i dont have to do anything to the wires pluged into the sub i can just leave em the way they are? Thanks

you cannot run that sub bridged to that amp.

Per the Kenwood Site

KAC-7205

Performance Series Stereo/Bridgeable Power Amplifier

Specifications

• CEA Rated: 170W X 2 (1.0% THD+N) (4Ohm/2Ch)

• 250 Watts x 2 (2 ohm)/500 Watts x 1 (4 Ohm Bridged)

• High Quality Speaker Level Input

• Blue Illumination

• High-pass (12 dB per octave) and low-pass (24 dB per octave) filters variable from 50 to 200 Hz

• Variable Bass Boost Control(0-18 dB at 40 Hz)

• Cooling Fan

That amp cannot handle a 2 ohm Bridged Load

You need either a second sub or a different amp.

Well wtf i posted on here two days ago saying i got the wrong amp (kenwood kac 7205) for my sub on accident. I asked if i should buy the alpine mrp-500 and everypne sayed no because i could just bridge the amp to my sub. heres the exact subwwoofer i bought btw.

Im sure that some of us told you to take the sub out of the box and check the coils. I guess you never did that and listened to the wrong person
Is it hard to take it out of the box? and what exactly would i be looking for when i got it out?

his sub is a dual 2... you can wire it, following the schematic I posted in your other thread, to 4 ohms, and then bridge it to your amp. this is all in your previous thread
thats the problem i dont know how to find my prvious posts.. lol but all i need to do is in the youtube video i posted right?

just go to the top of ur page... click on quick links, then subscribed threads from the drop down menu
sorry i guess i didnt subscribe to it because its nnot there. But that youtube video is that all i need to do? Cuz im go outside right now and do that if it is

that is the last part of it... you need to make sure that your sub is wired correctly, to four ohms, like the schematic in your previous post shows... if your not subscribed, then you can click on your user name on this post, and then click "view thread posts" from the drop down... it will be in there

checking to make sure your sub is wired properly is the most important step tho, cuz if you don't, and its wired down to 1 ohm, you could damage, or even destroy your amp
