Bridging 2 amps

I am new to this forum..Anyways my problem I just bought a Audiobahn 10 Inch AWES10P. I am wanting to Bridge a Audiobahn 800 Watt 2 Channel amp with a Jensen 600 Watt 4 Channel amp. I would like for someone to instruct me on how I am suppose to go about this. Plus the sub is a 4 ohm dual voice coils, and it can be ran as a single 8 ohm or single 2 ohm load which is better and how do i wire that too.. Well who ever answers this questiont thanks for the help i really need it!

Just run it with the Audiobahn 800. Run the sub in a 2ohm load and it will perform just fine. If you connect another amp(particularly another brand which is considered crap) you could easily blow the sub.

You shouldn't power the voice coils with different amps, usually unless the amps are strappable. You cannot bridge a 4 channel amp down to one channel anyway. Just bridge your 8000T to run the sub, and wire the VC of the sub in parallel to get the desired 2 ohm impedance. Either throw the jensen away, or just let it sit on the shelf until you manage to find a use for it.

Um, you can't bridge two completely different amps to one speaker. You can't even do that with two of the same amp unless they are designed to do so.

As to the 2 or 8 ohm: It'll be easier to get higher power from your amps the lower the ohm number is, but at the cost of quality (usualy unnoticable). For two ohm, run the two +'s together and to the + on the amp. Then run the two -'s together and to the - on the amp.

Actually you can if you run an additional power line and RCA, but it isn't usually a good idea unless you are closely matching the output power specs. It varies what you should do based on the setup you desire. In this case don't do it unless you have the money to go shopping for another sub.

No, you can't. It is not as simple as just installing another amp, hooking it up to the sub and saying there you go. I'm not sure if you also missed the part where he clearly stated that one of the amps was a 4 channel rated at 600 watts. The amps would have to be producing identical power output with no difference in time. That is why there is a cable that you get when strapping Kicker KX600.1's for example, to make sure that both amps are doing the same thing at the same time.

Militayboy91- Have you ever bridged down a 4 channel amp to run a single 4 ohm load before? Enlighten me please...

Here's some quick math for you-

The 8000T will produce around 400 watts bridged into 4 ohms

The Jensen will theoretically produce 300 watts with two channels bridged to 4 ohms

That is 700 watts

Simply bridging the 8000T to a 2 ohm load is 800 watts.

You get more power and eliminate any risks by just doing things the normal way. There isn't even a point in trying to use those two amps on one sub.
