Here are some pics of my box worklog

Dimensions are 16*16*40 I haven't decided tuning yet but it will be low-mid 30s. That will be determined after bracing. Subs are two Pioneer TS-2000SPL. Powered by a MD3 if it ever gets here.

I will have to see if that helps any. I am curious if the sawdust will make the resin stronger. Will it fill in the gaps better, etc.

What is happening so far is the resin is aborbing into the box and leaving the sawdust on top (if that makes any sense, like water+peper and then water evaporates)

It did fill in the gaps very well. I am going to sand it down to make it smooth and still resin the insides when I do 45s.

for minor gaps like that i would use wood glue and saw duct....its a better chemical mix

Why, because it doesn't separate like resin/sawdust?

Because the woodglue and sawdust acts like resin and hardener. They both work together to form something stronger in the end. The glue bonds with the wood, which is filling in the cracks. Great stuff, I use it all the time.

do you mix it in a cup like I did with the resin??

I will try this with the other sides to see if I notice a difference.

*shrug* I just pix it in whatever's handy. Use enough glue that it turns into like a thick paste like wood filler.

I mixed equal parts of resin+wood glue+saw dust = success. The stuff was very creamy, like mashed potatoes. It filled the cracks/waves very well, laid down very smooth. I didn't have a lot of gaps, just where the corners meet, sometimes one side is 1/16 or so larger than other side so it sticks out.

I wonder if I can use the concoction as an adhesive?

I wouldn't, and it was kinda nullified by using the resin. Next time, I'd just try the wood glue and sawdust.

the finer the saw dust the better. i have used polyester resin and saw dust to fill gaps and even make small parts to straighten a bumper and help it keep its shape after wards and its still holding strong.

boat builders have been using the mix of resing with fine saw dust for the longest with great results.

it is way better then just wood glue and saw dust. but it will work just fine for 1/16" trugh 1/4" gaps, anything bigger i would use the resin and dust to get a strong fix.

i have used the resin and dust aswell as a replacement of wood glue, it is not the best because of the thickness that the saw dust adds to the resin. so i dont recomend it. but it does work.

i do recomend using it inside the enclosure for strength and seal. way better then wood glue and saw dust or silicone. since you kill two birds with one stone using the resin and dust "strength and seal".
