Box too tall?

When doing a suv sub up port back setup how much space is needed between the subs and the roof to avoid cancellation? Would 13 inches be enough?

I've done boxes much closer then that with no issues....other then the roof getting beat to hell....

you have more problems if the box is too far away from the roof. You should be fine.

Where's the port?

Really the only way to find out is to build many boxes and test each. There is no way any of us can tell you how this will perform. Personally I've had better results keeping things at or below the window line but that doesn't mean anything outside of my box and my vehicle.

Port will be on the bottom going across the entire length on the box
