box sizes

im going to build a box for my audiobahn awq1200 today, but first i have a question about the box size. i put it in my old dual sub box to see how it sounded, and it sounded good in that (1.35 cu ft). its recommended for .5 - 1.5 cu ft in a sealed box. what would be the advantages of going with a smaller or larger box?

Personally if I was you I'd try to find room for a ported box and go a little bit bigger. It'll sound better because 1) it's not store-made 2) i'ts ported and 3) it's bigger.

i am making the box. im only powering it with 400w rms, i believe its rated 200-700w rms. if i go sealed, what would be the advantage of .5, and what would be the advantage of 1.5?

1.5 will get a bit louder.
