Box help

This is a really NOOB question but I am getting 4 12's and I'm having trouble and choosing which recommend enclosure to choose. They are 1.75cuft and 2.25cuft or would it be best to find a number in between and us that for the enclosure?

What subs? What vehicle? How much power are you planning on putting to them?

Ima get 4 sa 12's. It will be in midsize suv and for the amps

I'm kinda stuck with hifonics or powerbass.

I'd do a 7ft^3 common chamber box tuned to 32hz, if you can fit it.

yeah i can fit it i was just wondering which enclosure size to go with my friend told me if i go with 1.75ft^3 that i wont get the lows and he told me that if i go with the 2.25ft^3 then i will get the lows. so he told me to just go with the number in between and i wanted to make sure what to do.

Unless you're using a really small box, which 1.75ft^3 each in a shared box isn't for these subs, then tuning is going to be more indicative of what kind of low-end you'll be getting.

Unless using too small of a box, tuning frequency is going to be more important in determining how low your subs can go.

If using a shared chamber box, yes, since you don't need as much air space per sub to get the same result as using larger, individual chambers for each sub. Using a shared chamber allows you to slightly cut down on box size. Stick with a 30-32hz tuning for good low-end.

Depends on the subs. The SA line from Sundown is already known for liking somewhat smaller than normal box sizes.
