box help with design

I have a 96 honda accord and im going to have 2 hdc3 12's hooked up to an aq 2200d amp.

my question is...

Where should the port be? I can have both subs and a slot port facing inside the cabin with the box sealed off from the trunk. The other way would be the subs facing inside the cabin and have two 4" aero ports on the side of the box.

A guy is going to build the box for me but im stuck between those two ideas. The box will be 4.5 cu ft and tuned to 37 hz.

Ive asked the question before on here but people just said have it facing inside the cabin because its less of a hassle. But im going to have someone build it for me so I actually wanna know the pros and cons. thanks

oh and heres a video(not my video).. so far im liking the way this guy has it.

It is a good idea to let the design determine the positioning of each, the drivers and port. Going in with a limited idea will likely also limit the ability of the design. Facing them both forward though, as mentioned, is a great starting point in any design. But phasing will also determine this when figuring for the proper passband and the degree of phase it will exhibit. Also, the vehicle will have a minor play in it as well.
