Ok im wanting to kind of "hide" my setup, so im wanting to put 2 12" subs in a sealed box right, then around the box, build a ported box tuned real low. Will it be louder, and lower than just a sealed outbox? could it have more output? will the ported box affect the subs in anyway in the sealed box?

so...are u trying a bandpass enclosure, thats kinda what it sounds like to me...

if so, you should really make your calculations carefully, or chances are it will sound like ***...talk to 80INCHES...he loves bandpass

i thought it was some sort of bandpass, but i thought most bandpasses were tuned higher. something like this. I want low lows, but output too. will this enclosure around it make a huge difference?

Bandpass enclosures, when done correctly, sound excellent.

They are very hard to design properly though, and are very driver dependent. Talk to someone like 80 inches or jmac...otherwise stick to a simple sealed or ported enclosure. The "rough" design you're talking about will sound awful.

All of this is just to make it look like you have a wall in your trunk though, and not subs? That seems silly...it'll still be very apparent that there's something there. Just point them at the sides if you're that worried about appearance.
