Ok so I have a few questions

How would a 18" Fi Btl sound in an IB setup?

I have a big trunk but small opening so i was thinking I could do an IB setup and not run into the trouble building a box and have to cut pieces out of my car.. I would seal all the holes that come into the cabin.. This is just an idea after reading james IB thread.. I have 13+ cubes trunk if i remember correctly..

thats what I have.. I can do a box in there just wanted to know if an Ib setup would work..

I doubt a BTL is going to sound good in a IB application.... your power handling is going to go to crap, and who knows what else will happen. Just get a sub designed for IB use, or ask Fi about their new Ib sub they're making.

nope.. just saw it and it should be very easy to accomplish.. like I said I can do a box and will if this gets ruled out i just want to hear opinions.. mainly from anyone with experience with IB's and or btls..

Also A box will own all of my trunk space so if i do it i have none.. thats not that big of a deal but another plus to an ib.. Also The power handling of the btl would go down which would be fine as i only have 2400watts or so to feed it..

IB = quieter, less power handling, flatter response, better SQ overall (if the sub is right for it, which a BTL...no)

You could get pretty much the same results from a sealed box out of the BTL, which would be louder as well.

Go ported unless you are really interested in going IB, in which case, you should buy a sub well suited for it, it's really pointless with a sub made for SPL and a ton of power
