Back Ground: I want to have a functional third row.

Sub -- Diamond D312D4

Amp -- Alpine M350 -- 350rms @ 2ohms

I was going to build a slot ported box but I would rather build a box using 2-4" or 3" round ports firing up with the sub downfiring. Diamond recomends the slot port but would this work. I know that I would need to router the top of the ports.

Gross cubic feet -- 2.26.

Length of single 4" would be 9.30" for 35 hz. Can I split this in 2 for 2 - 4" ports at 4.65 inches each or run one single 4 inch order at 9.3"?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,

Ford Expedition. I am only running 1 sub in the immediate until I can decide where I would mount a larger amp, I want the sub amp out of site, and which 2 subs to run. I got a good deal on the D3 so I bought it in hopes to upgrade down the road.

Thanks,

Well, best of both worlds I guess. It is kind of hard for me to choose. I want to listen to whatever music I like and have it sound good. Get loud when it needs to, I guess I'm vague. Here is what I have installed:

Kenwood Exceleron HU

RE 6.5 components -- Front

Cliff Designs 6.5 components -- Rear (I know not the greatest)

Alpine MRV-F353 - 40 x4 rms @ 4

Diamond D3 12 - D4

Alpine MRP-M350 - 350rms@2 ohm

Big 3

16 g monster spkr cable throughout

4 gauge power and ground.

Thanks,

Ohh sorry, with out of site, what I have done is cut a piece of mdf to fit in the stock sub/amp location behind the trim panel. This is where I am mounting the cap (I know) and amp. The M350 is rather small but enough for the D3. If I uprade to the subs I really want, I'll need 800-1000 rms, which is a larger foot print amp.

I'm really not sure why i included, I guess I figured the more information I could give the better?

this was a down facing i did 4 a 2007 expidition (top is off ) it was for two flat piston subs and was only 1.65 ft^3 you could do some thing like that and still have a bit of cargo space (stealthy )

or you could go all out http://cgi.ebay.com/EXPEDITION-NAVIGATOR-10%22-PORTED-SUBWOOFER-SPEAKER-BOX_W0QQitemZ350220747509QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090706?IMSfp=TL090706113010r14187#ebayphotohosting

So this box was sealed or ported? I am assuming sealed. For the present, I have built a downfriing sealed 1 ft^3 box but would really rather have a ported box. I have looked at that box on ebay over and over. I would have done something like that if I had 2 subs. It seemed like a waste to buy now and have one side empty. I have been seraching for a box similiar with 2 ft^3 for a single 12. Everything I have found is either ridiculiously priced or a cube that wouldn't work.

Thanks,
