Not to thread jack, but Mlstrass, do you think that 35hz would be a good tune for me? I listen to alot but its mostly current rap sometimes (not crazy about all of it), old school hip hop and R&B, and old school 80s mixes. I also listen to rock every now and then.

That "window bracing" is going to cause turbulence, imo. I would use threaded rod. Sometimes simple is better.

I've only tried 38 & 35 with the HD's and I prefer 35 for sure. I've also done a box for a DD9515 at 35Hz and an 18" MT at 35Hz and they sounded good and got loud.

I'd say to 35Hz for sure as I think you'll be very happy. Also will hit some pretty sick lows on rap...

I use a round over bit on all the edges of the holes I cut in the braces, so I'm not worried about turbulence. Seems to be working fine and I've built 4-5 boxes using them. None have had any noise issues or sounding anything other than good.

Window bracing is VERY common when building HT subs, and works just as well for a car sub IMO.

im thinking of using multiple wood dowels for bracing , basically what i originally planed but more of them ...... also im thinking of tunning abit lower just a hair , but i hear many different things from people on the tuning , some say 35-38 and some people swear by 40hz........and some people even say 30hz-34hz but IMO those ppl are newbs .... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
