Box design for 2 SA8s

Wow, a TL! You don't see those often around here. Have you built it? Any more info?

Sorry, been away from the site the past couple of days. I just took the max dimensions that he gave and came up with the design from there. It should probably be a little shorter in order to have a smaller taper ratio. I just wanted to let him know that he had more options with the dimensions he had available. No, I havent built it, but will be building one soon with my 12" IA DP.

It's kind of funny actually. I sent off a project assessment form to a VERY popular enclosure designer that everyone seems to rave about for my 2xDD1508s. I mean, I can build sealed, and ported enclosures, but I just wanted to see what he would give me. I sent him my max dimensions I had available and what I got in return was those max dimensions (I must be a genius), in a tapered T Line variant. Well, I reverse engineered the design he sent me and I pretty much know his method of making these things. Without even looking at his specs, I was able to recreate what he sent me to 1/100 of an inch, and it was dead on. Now, I don't know if the dimensions I gave him was just the perfect size for my design, or if this is just a method that cant go wrong. But, I intend to find out. I've done tons of research on them, and it just may be somewhere in the middle. I will find out soon enough though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt a 3" aero WAY too small for 2 8s? hell would a 4" even give you enough port area?

Don't get me wrong I like the TL but this is going into an extended cab Tacoma so the port would be firing directly into the side of the cab. I think the subs forward port up will sound much better but thanks for the idea. I've totally scraped the aero port idea since the dual chambered slot ports at 32Hz will give me much more low end than the 3" areo at 35Hz. Plus I like slot ports better anyway. I just ordere my subs today gonna start building the box when they arrive!

port firing to the side will get very loud in that truck. I think there's about 52" of width to work with, so you can go up to 48"and still have plenty of breathing room for the port.
