Crutchfield on that woofer:

Enclosure Compatibility
Sealed Box Volume: The sealed box sizes recommended by Kenwood range from 0.8 cu/ft to 1.75 cu/ft. Within this range, the ideal size recommended by Kenwood is 1.25 cu/ft.

Vented Box Volume: The vented box sizes recommended by Kenwood range from 1.0 cu/ft to 2.0 cu/ft. Within this range, the ideal size recommended by Kenwood is 1.5 cu/ft. One 3" diameter x 7" long port should be used with a 1.5 cu/ft enclosure.

Power Handling Note

Power Handling: Kenwood has established "Rated", "Maximum" and "Peak" input power ratings for this woofer. The "Rated" input power spec is equivalent to the RMS Power Handling, the "Maximum" input power rating is a continuous power handling specification, and the "Peak" input power rating is equal to the "Peak Power Handling". The power ratings are as follows:

"Rated" input power: 400 watts

"Maximum" continuous input power: 800 watts

"Peak" input power: 1,200 watts

those woofers like sealed boxes.... they sound good ported but sealed is the way to go with them

ok. but im looking for a box design. so i can build a box...

If you go ported:

You need 3 cu ft (net) @ 37 Hz with

2 12" holes (obviously). When you run your amp,

make sure you use between a 30 and 34Hz subsonic

filter (High pass).

If you go sealed, you can do a prefab

3/4 inch MDF enclosure no problem.

After displacment this will be right at 1.25 per woofer.

If you want to do it yourself, just base it off that design.
