Box Build: Two 10" Type R's (3.4 cubes @ 35.4Hz)

U don't think that's too big? Alpines MAX is 1.25ft3 per sub.... Not trying to slam u, I'm interested because I am planning a ported box for my two type-r 10's

Alpine's recommended specs are really off.

Like 3.0 cubes for a 15 type r LOL

more like 4.4

1.7 will deliver, trust me. If you want i can pm you the cutout sheets for this box for free.

Dont have that much room... I'm building a 2.5ft3 box for mine... thanx anyway though!!!
if you only have 2.5 cubes you'd be better off not doing two 10's and do a single 12 in a 2.25.

Better to properly box one sub then to improperly do 2

I've heard the type-r 10's in 1.0ft3 tuned to 38hz and they didn't sound too bad.... Definitely don't think I need 3ft3 + to make 10's sound good....

Why is it every time I talk about building a ported box, the box size needed gets bigger and bigger and bigger.... They say companies recommend smaller boxes so it'll fit easier, but even great companies like FI and RE only recommend low 1ft3 for their 10's.... so NOBODY knows what theyre talking about??

If you're buying cheap non efficient 10's such as type r's prepare to build a larger box.

BTW FI SSD, which is the most closely comparable to a type r require 1.5 per sub.

And the SSD is a bit more efficient then the R.

Companies recommend smaller boxes to raise power handling and make the item more profitable in terms of a warranty.

My rockford punch 10" HX2's need 1.5(min) to 2.1(Optimum) per sub.

If you are so skeptical, run the 10" type r via WINISD and find out for yourself.
