So I finally found time to build a new box for both my pwe304's. The box is sealed with dual chambers. Decided to try birch for this box and so far I really like it. It's a lot lighter and more appealing. They will be powered by an aq1200d at 1ohm.

I haven't figured out how I want to finish the box yet. At first I thought about staining it maybe a light stain. Now the idea of tan vinyl is in my head. Also I may round the corners and edges later on. Let me know what yal think and give ideas.

Overall cuft is 2.8 (1.4x per chamber)

Dimensions are 55w x 14h x 8td x 10bd

On to some pictures:

The smaller routers were on the job site and I didn't want to use the mammoth router (weighs about 25lbs) so I went the old fashion way and jigsawed them hoes. Don't make fun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

did you knaw those cutouts man? goodness haha other than that stain that box! oh it would look nice with a dark stain!

also did you go slow with the jigsaw? i can cut the cutouts like perfect with a jigsaw man. you just have to put your face in front of the blade then cut.

here is an example:

Haha it does look rough. I used a 24 tooth blade which caused a lot of splintering //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I used to use the jigsaw for all my boxes and I'm able to cut perfect holes like you've shown but it was around 9 at night and I was ready to get them done so I rushed...not the smartest idea but should be ok.

I though about a dark stain way before building the box but wasn't sure how it would look with my interior. I have tan interior.

looks good man. how u like those subs? man the surrounds on those just look frkn weird!
their really clean and get pretty loud. I haven't pushed both of them yet though because the second one still needs to be broken it. Before when I had just one in a ported box it was decently loud and still had great sq.

The surrounds do look funny lol. For my application they work out great because I don't have to worry about them rubbing on my back seat.

got it installed today and played it for a little while. I'm still breaking in the other sub so nothing special yet. Sounds great though.
Now for pics

Is there a notch in the cutout on the right woofer? Does air pass?

a little update: I drove my truck to lunch to get some play time in. Subs sound great, bass is tight and punchy. Very nice sq setup for the average person. I'm having some electrical issues though so now I need to get that fixed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif FML
