box broke wtf

that first one in your fs add looks like an absolute peice of shit
OHH LOL! that one yeah that the first one that broke. biggest POS evar. Thought you were talking abou the box that was in the picture with my amp f/s thread -- thats the one im talking about now

Straight cuts, screws, liquid nails and brace the inside. If it is gonna get a lot of power, fiberglass resin on the inside. If you do all that and still "break" your box, don't ask me. With that said, it is just a matter of putting the sides together in the right places.

To me it sounds like it has an internal brace that has seperated form the back wall, and when the wall flexes a little, its slapping against it

Pop the sub out and take a look, why make a **** thread about it before even knowing what happened. Take 5 min to pull out the screws and check

And like slate said, I dont get why people dont pop a couple screws in, I wouldnt never trust glue alone personally, but aparently you can.....

I'd have to go against the liquid nails (wood glue is what you want), but x2 most of that

i would notify the person that built the box also, they should be willing to either rebuild or fix the problem, which could either mean somekind of refund or a new box. by no means should a box have any sort of failure within 2 weeks of using it. It was either a mistake or just poorly built

booo on the liquid nails. wood glue > liquid nails.

For some reason, not too many people believe in screws on this forum.
no need for screws if you use wood glue.

the screws just hold the box in place while the glue drys.
u dont need screws at all if u properly glue the box and use the appropriate glue.
yes. Clamps are nice too.
