Boss is wanting me to change subs...RF or Kicker

By no means am I saying the product is crap, I just don't like their pricing (mainly because I really can't afford it LOLOLOL!). Then again I'm reminded of an equation: OPINIONS = BUTTHOLES. Anyway, my opinion would be to do 4 L7 12's with the power you have. Not sure who suggested 4 12's belongs in 12 cubes but that was not a very bright statement. With the power you have I would do something like 7-8 cubes net with 2-3 6" aeros.


yea, i was talking 12 cubes is the max, if i did the 12s probably 2-2.5 cubes apiece. 35hz tuning maybe

im just wondering if ill be dissapointed with either one, i dont want to do all the work and end up being dissapointed

The Rockfords look pretty wicked, that is for sure. I don't think you will be disappointed with 4 12's whether you go the L7 route or T2 route. Should have plenty of output regardless of the direction you pursue. One thing to keep in mind as you elect to pursue this is the fact that those 18's are basically like having 4 L7 12's in terms of cone area (both setups give you roughly 2400 cm^2 of cone area). There are more motors involved, but it's not like the BTL's don't have a strong motor. Just food for thought.

I wouldnt switch

Maybe AQ Or Mach 5 SPL subs but not L7 vs BTL or RF vs BTL tell him to carry some decnet product that Fi isnt going to shitts on.

I almost bet that new setup is nto louder than 2 18" BTL not with RF or Kicker

I woudl do kicker and beat the **** out of them.

 
just not a big selling point for those companies i wouldnt think, its hard enough trying to get people to buy kicker comps when we have them for like 120 a pair for 12s, world will come to an end if you try and sell them CVR or L5/L7

real world people want cheap, plain and simple, they might ooh at it when it sitting there and want it, but when you start talking a 2000+watt amp for 1400$, an extra battery, 200 for a wire kit, custom box,labor and tax, your up $3000-$4000+, not counting a screen and other accessories cause to be ballin' you need a jensen flip out:crap:

people like us on here dont buy from b&m shops, so whose gonna pay the price of say a BTL 18 fully loaded? 500 is direct from Fi, then you need profit on it, RE mt 18 used to be 450ish direct now its like 1000$

as much as i would love to have DD or Fi, i dont believe its gonna happen

biggest system we did lately was 3 CVR 15s, 3 RF 4002, a rf 4004 and kicker ks 6.5s coax's around, cant remember the price but it was up there, and thats dosent come too often, mostly basic stuff
