bose question

well my dad has an acura tl 3.2s with a factory bose system. i know everyone looks down on bose, but i must admit his door speakers sound **** good, easily as good as my polk/pioneers. I might get his car ina few months, and i know people say dont mix speakers. well my pioneer and polk sound good together, even though there mixed. is is even worth trying to add somewhere (probabbly make it 2 per door) my polk/pioneer? the reason for this is, i want more speakers becuase mine arent loud enough and are being overpowered by the bass, and this would be a free way to get another set (just not take em out)

who says don't mix speakers? if i read this right, what your planning on doing won't work, most "bose" systems usually have the speakers in a platic enclosure so your idea won't work the way your thinkin it will.

what i meant is like for example in the front doors, having the stock bose system, and ontop of that also adding in my polk front stage to it. so i have both the bose speakers and the polk speakers up front. and run the bose of the amp that their already running off of

i did something similar in my old car an olds toronado. it has bose in the door and i left them there and i added a 4" and a tweet in the dash as well as a new tweet in the door. only diff was i didn't keep the factory amp. i ran it all of another amp. and it sounded pretty good. but this was back in like 96. what you'd have to worry about here is how you plan on feeding the factory amp and a new amp at the same time. meaning are u keeping the factory headunit? if so r u gonna use a llc to get a signal to the other amps?

Stock bose sucks balls, actually bose sucks balls period.

If you think those sound good either your polks **** and you cannot install worth a **** or you have never heard someting that actually sounded good.

I see your in dallas, if you want to hear a good sounding car hit me up...

i mean yea i havent hear amazing, but it sounds **** good to me, and its all relative isnt it? i dont care if its not amazing to others standards, as long as it sounds good to me. and yea, im getting a new hu for it, how can i put it 4 rca's (two for front two for back) when my HU only has on slot for each (front and back)

If you getting a new headunit you will not be able to use the stock bose amp and most likely not be able to use the bose speakers by themselves as most factory bose are 1 or 2 ohm

well he could keep the factory speakers and what not if he got the right harness for it. but that means alot of running of new wires for your other speakers. and also where do you plan on putting the other speakers at? most acura doors are sorta molded and adding speakers won't be easy.

maybe kickpanels if they fit. id have to become creative. theres tons of space on the rear deck iirc for the rear set. theres the bose sub in the middle of teh rear deck but thats getting removed (wish i coudl combo that sub which isnt bad with my type r's but i was told mixing subs bad)

alright guys i know bose sucks, but im on a budget, and these particular bose speakers sound good enough for me. you dont have to keep saying it

it really depends what car i know my pathfinder's bose sucks balls

i test drove a 02 maxima and they sounded much better

also the murano/fx have great sounding setups but then again in general

its horrible nothing i would dream of keeping

If I were you, I wouldn't bother.

Simply adding a pair of speakers isn't going to make it much louder at all, and it sounds like you don't want to go to a lot of trouble - which you will have to when dealing with Bose systems.

why wouldent it make it louder? having doulbe the speakers wont make it louder?

and whats the challenge in it, other than installation of the second set? im not changing the bose system at all, except the head unit
