Bookshelf Design?

Avistar...you have six meter capability? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
50MHz sporadic-E has been kicking *** here the past few days (well, as much as can be expected for this point in the solar cycle)...ZF1DC down in Grand Cayman was booming in here a few days ago, so I figure the propagation to your neck of the woods is good too.
Yeh only got 3 elements on it, ill be getting some 1/2 inch hardline and 5 elements on a lonnng boom soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Tits //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm on an omni loop right now - my 3 element beam is in pieces in the basement, needing space to put it up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Would love to set up a sked with you sometime, once the silly FCC here does away with the code requirement and I can fire up my IC-746 on 20 meters...NC to the Bahamas should be a very good signal path.

Would the enclosure have to be bigger, or what?
For what, another driver?

If you were to change the driver, you need something that's designed for whatever one you choose //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Actually, I'm not a big fan of sealed full range drivers. They simply don't get efficient enough. There are transmission line full range projects out there that will handle some power. Jordans come to mind...but those can be pricey. If you're interested about going the single-driver route, here's a good link for ya: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=51

I don't necessarily have to go the single driver route, but I'm just guessing that it will be easiest... I think I may copy a project off of the parts express page....

I was particularly talking about changing the 3" Full Range to a 4" Full range... If I were to do this, what all would I have to change about the enclosure? I assume that it will have to get a little bigger.

Eh, I think I'm just gonna break down and buy the theater in a box... I have a question though, can you typically replace the subwoofers on those, or is it usually the speaker type terminals that hook them up compared to RCA outs?

Damn that sucks....

I looked at this project, and thought that it may be for me?

The only problem I am running into is lack of tools to work with... I really don't have the tools readily available around me. Buying a table saw would be uneconomical, mainly because I will have zero space to put it when I go to college in a month or so...

I'm really intersted in doing my own project, however, due to a few factors, it makes it very difficult..
