bad BAD news..
I just got a new jvc kd-r900 HU (very nice btw) and I couldnt figure out why I couldnt get output from the sub. Turns out when the coil cooked, it took the amp down too. There arent any visual signs in the guts but db-r quote $150 :/ I dont really have the money for that right now either.

Dropped my friends Audiopipe 6001 in real quick to test. Didnt every bother to tune it in much and gain were at 1/2 at the most. Pulls a hairtrick pretty easy, flexs alot more than previous setups already, too. Pretty impressed...
