Should have the top assembly back from PSI tomorrow. Got a full white cone with dual leads on it. Said its much better than OEM. Anyways, I have a hand-full of idea on why the coil fried so I shouldnt have a problem this time around. I didn't realize how openly designed the coil was and I think some crap got into the coil gap because I had tons of MDF dust in my box. AND as I was taking the top assembly off when it fried, I noticed one screw was very loose.

Got all the cuts made at home depot and that was a mistake. It did save me lots of time but all the cuts were at least .25'' off, and that REALLY screwed everything up. I had to do lots of sanding to even it all out. Box isn't going to be flush mount, but double baffle...may not look too great.Have the box completely together, just need to make the sub cut-out.

Spray painting it a navy blue.

for the 5.25s you can get some 47 dollar cadence coaxials with crossovers and silk dome tweets.

for about the same you can get almani 6x9s which for the price are slick as hell. built really well and put out good midbass. Ill get some pics and links at lunch

yea i know. I hate that. I always had my tools at school now if i need it cut i can use the saw at work. They are off on your cuts because on most saws there they go by the laser or the tape on the saw and they are always off. you need to measure and mark your desired cut then line the blade up and it cuts fine. But most employees do not do that

Well the sub got rescheduled to arrive tomorrow. Sub must have taken the amp with it too. Been having trouble with no output from my sub and I swapped it out with my friends and it plays no problem

bad BAD news..

I just got a new jvc kd-r900 HU (very nice btw) and I couldnt figure out why I couldnt get output from the sub. Turns out when the coil cooked, it took the amp down too. There arent any visual signs in the guts but db-r quote $150 :/ I dont really have the money for that right now either.

No way just got it back from PSI. Hooked up my friends audiopipe to it yesterday and its louder than ever. Pretty sure its the loudest setup so far with just the audiopipe 6001 on it.
