Almost finished up with another one of my projects Ive had goin on lately, this one seemed worth while to post up. One of my buddies has a really nice beamer that he got last year and he wanted to transfer over the equipment he had from his last one.

He has a 13W7, it was in a pretty decent enclosure, double baffled but had nasty carpet on it but wasnt the right size for the trunk.

The 1000/1 that he has is wired up to the battery right in the trunk (stock the battery is located in a small compartment on the right side of the trunk) with 4ga. Grounded to the chassis at the batteries ground point. If he has dimming issues I am going to wire a small deep cycle battery in right on top of the stock one.

Theres a small storage spot in the trunk, theres basically a false floor cover that lays in the trunk and it folds up to reveal a small compartment. The amp is secured in there and I cut a new false floor out of 1/2 MDF to replace the factory cover, it will have a cutout in it for the top of the amplifier and it will be slightly counter sunk in.

The enclosure is ~3.0cube @ 32hz with about 30sq in of port. Upon measuring the trunk I found that we could get away with a ported enclosure with the dimensions I had. The box fits in absolutely perfectly in the trunk. The false floor follows the exact same lines as the trunk cutout for it and the enclosure lines up perfect on top fitting very snug in between the wheel wells.

Im going to put some small strips of an industrial velcro on the bottom of the false floor and enclosure as well.

Oh and the car is clean as hell btw, I didnt get any pics of it or the setup mocked up in the trunk but that just saves the good part for later //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Car looks kinda like this, IIRC its a 325i or something? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif (335i)I forget, all I remember is its a t-turbo six cylinder and its quick. Also has a nice set of BMW 19 inch wheels. And tint //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Overall he wanted a very clean simple install that looked factory and was easy to access.

BTW he ordered a few yards of suede that I will be covering the enclosure and false floor with. More pics tommorow night when he brings it by so I can put it all in. Just teasers for now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I am highly anticipating the finished product! Should look good, seems you followed the lines pretty well and should look pretty sweet in there. Gotta say, nice install, for a nice audio setup, for a D.A.M.N. nice car!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Stay tuned because later tonight Ill post up the finished product. With it mocked up in the trunk it looked soooo sexy, I cant wait to see it in there covered in suede. Everything slides in perfectly, its amazing how easy it really is to move this setup around. If for any reason he had to pull the box out, he just has to drop the rear seat, un plug the speaker wire, and slide the box out the trunk opening.

The fit of the enclosure in the back is amazing, you have to see it in person to really get a feel for how nice it slides in.

Also, since the car is a lease, whenever he turns it in he can just pick up another one. Slide the box out, pull out the false floor piece. Pull out the amp (which requires disconnecting the loc, remote, and the power and ground which are connected literally 2ft away) and just slide it all back in the next one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

All mocked up

I made a template for the bottom of the amp. The amp screws down to it and the board is secured in the cubby hole.

Mocking it up still, here you can see where the power and ground run, I didnt get a close up but I had to notch the bottom corner of the plastic cover so that the false floor could lay flush.

I also had to get wicked with a drill and some 60 grit
