Welcome to the club...

Make sure you amp the fronts, otherwise it won't help. Maybe suggest the matching sundown amp, as I like matching amps.

100w on a tweeter is too loud for me. The SLC series isn't that expensive. The 3 way system in nearly $100 more but imo worth it. In retrospect, however, I would do the 3 way setup with different mid and tweet and use the CDT 3way passive crossover, but I don't think you wanna spend that kinda $$. The 2way SLC kit will do just fine I think as that little midbass can move!

I think hes got 50 on the tweeters, he has some jbl amp, dunno.
